Santa Barbara...Part 2

We took the kids on a bike tour of Isla Vista and UCSB! It was so fun!

This is the apartment complex where we met! We lived across a little courtyard from each other. It used to be called The Olive Tree and had green trim!

My apartment (it was #37).................................................Aaron's apartment (it was #21)

Riding through I.V.

Parking at the UCSB Bookstore

My dorm room Freshman year

Campus Point

Macie sat right in a row of tar droplets! Nobody else got any tar on them...just Mooch. She was sad...nothing a little baby oil can't remove!

My dorm was right there in those tall trees...so close to the beach! It was awesome!

Okay! So we were riding back through Isla Vista to eat lunch at Woodstock's Pizza and I hear, "Mrs. Bishop!" It was Amanda, a student of mine from my very first class as a teacher! She is a Junior at UCSB...I had her when she was 7 years old:) I was actually Miss Smith when she had me!

Amanda and me

Then we ran into this UCSB police officer whom Aaron has known for years. He is always at the UCSB basketball games and has even been part of a few of Aaron's skits!

Then, we stopped to say hi to Mike...the mechanic in I.V. that worked on my Jetta a million times between 1991-1995! He is still there in I.V. and his son now goes to UCSB.

Me and Mike

Then we ran into Val. She happened to be walking by! Val and Ed are property managers in I.V. and bigtime UCSB basketball season ticket holder fans! We've known them for years!

We went out to dinner with Jeff and Tara Rohde! Kaitlyn and Baby Evie too!

Thanks for the great dinner guys! Baja Fish Tacos at Shoreline! Yum! Thanks for the yummy cookies Tara!

What a fun fun trip!!! We love Santa Barbara!!!!

Swimming back at our hotel after dinner...like 8:00 pm but still so light!

More Santa Barbara adventures to come!

Farewell Austin!

Our nephew Austin left for BOOT CAMP! He enlisted in the Army! We are all very proud of him and wish him the best! Aimee and Mike had a farewell party for him at their house. People from all times and areas of his life were there to show their support. It was really neat!

Aimee and Mike have frogs all over their yard! Caden and Abbie loved that!

Austin and Steven have been friends since they were babies, lived next door to eachother all growing up...great friends!

We are proud of you Austin!

Camping at Silver Lake

A week after we got back from my parents' house, we went trailer camping at Silver Lake Resort near June Lake! We had a blast! We rented a trailer and they delivered it to the site for us! The kids thought it was "awesome"!
We fished, explored, met nice people, fed huge fish in a pond, rode bikes, made smores, and just hung out as a family...oh and Aaron had to go to the hospital!

She is SO DANG CUTE!

Caden caught a fish!

Camping isn't camping without Easy Cheese!

There was a pack station next door.

On the way home!

Need I say more?!

Oh yeah! The hospital story! Aaron's body does not react well to mosquito bites! The bitten area swells a lot! Well, he got bit 2-3 times on his left hand. His ring finger and hand swelled HUGE! I took a picture before it got really bad and then didn't take another one. Any way, the swelling would not go down. He could not move his hand, and his finger was changing color! It had been over 24 hours. He had taken 3 doses of Benedryl, ice, elevate, etc. So at 11:00 at night I told him that I really thought he should go get his ring cut off. He did. The swelling began to go down immediately once the ring was off! We're taking his ring in tomorrow to get fixed!
